FED: Wilson Tuckey a big spender on taxpayer travel tab

New figures show federal MP WILSON TUCKEY spent more than $250,000 on plane flights
in the first six months of this year.

The Sydney Morning Herald says Finance Department figures released yesterday show Mr
TUCKEY is one of the big spenders on taxpayer-funded flights.

The former forests minister is yet to be sworn in because of a Federal Police investigation
over his taxpayer-funded flights.

The paper says he spent $127,324 on charter flights alone between January and June.

It says he also spent $87,968 on VIP aircraft, $46,486 on domestic flights and $27,506
on car travel.

According to the figures, Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD'S use of VIP aircraft cost the
taxpayer $364,190 in the first six months of the year.

Mr HOWARD also spent $334,789 on overseas travel and $96,349 on cars.
